Case Study – Saskatchewan Gymnasiums
Advantage Sport rose to the challenge by showing our capacity to manage large-scale projects anywhere in Canada. We were able to cover 18 gymnasiums in 6 Saskatchewan schools within the scheduled timeline. We delivered and installed 85,000 square feet of Omnisports 8.3 mm flooring in less than 3 months.
Before anything could begin, the customer flew more than 3000 kilometers to visit our facility to ensure that we had the capacity to take on such a large-scale project.
As another product was the basis for design, our sales department had a lot of work to do to get the customer to consider our Omnisports product. After making contact with the decision maker, some preliminary pricing was sent. Our V.P. of sales met with the customer and spent a full day in Saskatchewan while visiting each site. We submitted final pricing, followed-up with more technical data, and answered the client’s questions. Detailed information about the features and benefits of the Omnisports surfacing product was provided in order to secure Omnisports as the right product to use on this project.
Effective product management was key to our success. Delivering a project of such magnitude requires extensive work to getting the project completed, through planning, confirming, delivering, and installing. Once the contract was obtained, there was a lot of research to be done about the condition of the sites. Our product managers got on a flight to Saskatchewan and spent three days visiting each site and evaluating the readiness of the concrete slab to receive the new sports surfacing product. The amount of preparation work was also evaluated to ensure an optimal installation. Our specialized installers stayed in Saskatchewan during the entire time, making themselves available throughout the installation process.
The logistics of planning for such extensive work was definitely challenging. Over 160 rolls of Omnisports 8.3 and 260 sports sockets were delivered to the sites. More than 14 kilometres of game lines were painted on the surfaces. The benefits of the GreenLay™ installation method clearly helped in the installation process to complete the project by the deadline.
The 18 gymnasiums were delivered without any deficiencies, to the client’s great satisfaction.
