Project context<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As part of the renovation of its double gymnasium, C\u00e9gep Andr\u00e9-Laurendeau aimed to modernize its athletic facilities by installing a sports surface that is high-performing, durable, and visually distinctive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective was to revitalize a central space used for sports and educational activities while improving comfort and extending the lifespan of the flooring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project covered approximately 12,000 square feet, requiring a technical approach capable of meeting the demands of a high-use collegiate environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advantage Sport was mandated to design a sports flooring solution combining athletic performance, durability, and effective management of existing building constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The challenge was to integrate a technical solution that protects the new flooring from moisture while maintaining high athletic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Technical solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Advantage Sport carried out the installation of an Omnisports Active+ system combined with the Tarkolay vapour barrier over a total area of approximately 12,000 square feet. This system provides, among other features, Class 3 shock absorption, helping to enhance athlete comfort and reduce impact on joints during sports activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The combination of Light Maple and Golden Maple tones created a dynamic and functional design. At the center, a Golden Maple inset, matching the exact dimensions of the main volleyball court, clearly defines the playing area while adding a distinctive visual signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During the removal of the existing flooring, signs of moisture were discovered. To prevent recurrence, the specialized Tarkolay vapour barrier system was installed as a protective underlayment, ensuring effective moisture management and the long-term durability of the new sports surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
