OUR CAUSES
Advantage Sport is proud to support the good work of Lutherwood Child and Family Foundation as they provide comfort and care to children in our community at the Safe Haven Youth Services and the Children’s Mental Health Services.
Our Cambride office team went out to find gifts for the Lutherwood Comfy Cozy Holiday Drive. Our team donated clothing, toys, personal care products, and gift cards, some of the most requested items on their wish list to ensure that the children in their care would find some healing this holiday season.
They provide community mental health resources, day programs, and residential programs for children and youth with mental health and developmental challenges. Services include schooling, psychological care, art therapy, nature therapy, nursing, and support for families and caregivers to give them the tools to help their children reintegrate into the community and to be successful in school and life.
We hope our contribution will help to ensure a cheerful holiday season and a bright new year.
Advantage Sport is actively involved in supporting the KW Legacy project in Ontario. Created by a group of high-school friends who wanted to give back to their community, KW Legacy leverages the connections and skills of the members to raise money for scholarships for local students. They also support other people and organizations looking for ways to make Waterloo Region an even better place to live.
Advantage Sport was pleased to participate in the 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament lead by the Schools for the Children of the World (SCW). This unique non-profit organization is created and supported by architects, engineers, and school planners/administrators/contractors who have undertaken to design and build school facilities in underprivileged communities. The procedure for each project engages the community with the design and construction of the project and requires the local municipality to share a portion of the construction costs.
Consistently, approximately 95% of all funds donated go directly to the construction costs of the school projects.
Advantage Sport is proud to support the Opération Coût de Crayon (Operation School Supplies) initiative led by the Centre de bénévolat et moisson Laval (Quebec), a project that aims to equip children from underprivileged neighbourhoods with school supplies. Already in its 15th year, Operation School Supplies helps some 700 school children in the Laval region each year (840 in 2012 alone). As such, Advantage Sport will donate a few backpacks full of supplies – from markers to duo-tangs, to construction paper, a lunchbox and more – to provide local kids with what they need to start the school year off right.
