Project context

The former Dennis Avenue Community School was demolished due to structural aging and significant deterioration. The redevelopment project involved constructing a new three-story school designed to provide students, families, and the surrounding community with a modern learning environment.

The new facility was also envisioned as a community hub, incorporating versatile sports infrastructure capable of supporting intensive school use and a wide range of community activities.

Challenge and objectives

Advantage Sport was entrusted with delivering a sports flooring solution suited to a multifunctional school gymnasium with high traffic levels.

The primary objectives were:

Technical solution

Advantage Sport installed a PolyTurf Plus Pad and Pour (7+2) system across approximately 3,600 square feet. This poured-in-place system creates a seamless surface known for durability, wear resistance, and minimal maintenance. Its resilient composition provides appropriate comfort for physical activities while supporting high levels of use.

PolyTurf Plus was selected for its versatility, allowing the gymnasium to accommodate sports, school functions, and community events within a safe and functional environment.
