Sports complex (indoor running track)

Project context

Advantage Sport was invited to submit a proposal for the development of the largest indoor running track on Montreal’s North Shore, located at the Terrebonne Sports Complex.

With impressive dimensions of 384 feet by 218 feet, this suspended track represents a major asset for the region, particularly during the winter months when outdoor activities are limited by harsh Canadian weather conditions.

The elevated platform, positioned approximately 25 feet above ground level, forms the perimeter of four large indoor soccer fields, creating an integrated and multifunctional athletic environment.

Challenge and objectives

Advantage Sport was required to install a durable, high-performance surface on a suspended structure while meeting a strict timeline.

Primary objectives included:

• Deliver a safe and durable indoor running track
• Install a system adapted to an elevated platform
• Ensure optimal performance for running and walking
• Complete the project within a three-week timeframe

The challenge involved coordinating logistics for an elevated installation while maintaining speed of execution and technical precision.

Technical solution

Advantage Sport installed an Omnisports 6.5 system in the Night Blue color across a total area of 12,700 square feet.

A total of 25 rolls were required to complete the track installation. Omnisports 6.5 provides a resilient surface suitable for running activities, offering balanced shock absorption, secure traction, and high wear resistance.

The suspended perimeter configuration allows simultaneous use of the soccer fields below while maximizing the available space within the complex.

Results and benefits

The project was completed within the required three-week timeframe and to the full satisfaction of the owner.
