Zancor Centre (King City Township – Wide Recreation Centre)

King City, Ontario

Project context

Formerly known as the King City Township-Wide Recreation Centre, the Zancor Centre is a 124,000-square-foot municipal recreation complex representing an $86 million investment.

It was built to respond to the growth and recreational needs of the King City community. This major project also replaced several aging facilities and consolidated sports and community activities into a modern, multifunctional complex.

The centre’s fieldhouse features a PolyTurf Plus Pad and Pour surface that includes a multi-sport court as well as a three-lane indoor walking track. The green flooring colour was selected to visually complement the adjacent synthetic turf and create a cohesive aesthetic transition.

This new complex contributes to improving residents’ quality of life by providing a welcoming and functional space for sports, fitness, and community activities.
